solitaire save game

While playing Solitaire in Vegas mode and accumulative scoring: 1. Save a game in progress, say with a current score of -$90. 2. Later start a new game and choose not to resume the saved game. 3. Your starting score will be -$142 (-90 - 52).
The only way to start fresh game with -52 is to delete the saved game manually!
Is this really the intent?
